Our shared philosophy is that who you work with and the quality of this connection are the primary drivers of change.

Change Partners, LLC., offers an affordable, trauma-informed clinical model where you will work with predoctoral clinical psychology trainees supervised by licensed psychologist and founder Jodie Maccarrone, PhD.

The task of making sense of who you are can, at times, be overwhelming. This task becomes even more complicated when our past is filled with difficult life experiences, like relationship trauma, loss, and childhood abuse. For others, making sense of who you are in a world made for neurotypical thinking can feel impossible. Even when we do discover the important parts of who we are, such as our sexuality or gender, how others respond to us can make us feel more alone than ever before.

As a first-generation immigrant, I know how difficult it can be to preserve a unique sense of self while reaching for connection with those around you. I can help you discover and connect with who you are in a way that allows you to feel authentic in your connection to others - as well as yourself. To that aim, I offer a focused, collaborative, and warm therapeutic space that will help you learn more about how trauma and other life experiences affect your mood, sense of self, and relationships. My goal is to foster self-compassion, grounded in empirical research on how complex trauma can affect your life, which will allow you to acquire the necessary skills to pursue the relational and life goals that align with your values.

I specialize in working with individuals suffering from persistent depression, personality disorders, dissociation, identity issues, and recurrent relational problems.

In a world of noise, it can be difficult to feel heard. Throughout life, persistent rejection or invalidation in response to attempts of self-expression can make one feel unimportant and unlovable. Feelings of invisibility can be even more damaging to those who have never felt seen, and have been neglected by family members for as early as they can remember. In our work together, I will provide a different experience for you by creating a space where you can feel heard, seen, and validated. My goal is to help you break free from patterns of pain, and explore more adaptive ways of living.

I bring a deep understanding of trauma and its complexities. With the understanding that trauma affects individuals in unique ways, I tailor my approach to meet each person’s specific needs and experiences. I specialize in working with survivors of sexual and emotional abuse and neglect and will support you in your healing journey. My research includes the study of complex post-traumatic stress disorder, the therapeutic alliance, and therapeutic outcomes among this population and I am actively engaged in academic, trauma-related conferences. As a result, I am informed and engaged with professionals advancing with the latest innovations and treatments in trauma care. With a compassionate and informed approach, I am committed to providing you with the best possible care as you navigate your path to healing.
